Sea of Time

This is not the world that we have all come to know and love. This is a mere mix of times and places across the world and across time all mixed into a world we shall call Sea of Time. The Sea of Time is an ocean that has islands that represent places from all around the world and across time. The lands here are, for the most part, peaceful, though military seems to be ever-present for all of them.



Your character, whoever they may be, is free to travel between the islands, if they have a boat, of course. The classes below should give you a fairly broad selection of characters to choose from. Whether you want to be a rebel, soldier, leader, or any combination of the above, it’s all up to you. Of course, due to the clashing nature of most of these groups, there is to be much conflict.



Rules:

1. No godmoding. I will be very… unhappy….

2. No evil word attacks on people. Banter is ok, and I’ll even accept the occasional curse, if it’s tasteful.

3. Attempt to keep up with the RP. If you are going to have trouble keeping up with posting, let the other person know.

4. Limit the cross technology stuff. I don’t want to see EVERY character with a gun, or a kantana, and so on. The idea is to keep to the times. If there is a reason for it, I might allow it.

5. Weapons are rather simple. Guns, for example, are the flintlock type, one shot before reload, etc.

6. Heavy weapons, especially the likes of a mace, etc, can bend/break smaller, thinner weapons. This is to say that if you continually block a weapon like that, yours is likely to break. If you want to be fairer about this, use the dice system.

7. I realize that this is slightly vague, but it is kinda meant to be something that you can let your mind create in. It’s not very restrictive in order to allow for interesting scenarios. If you have advice, ideas, comments, concerns, let me know, and I’ll see what I can do.

Chyga followed the woman from behind the trees, riding Vycd Fhet quietly. Once he felt she was ready to be targeted, Chyga silently climbed from his horse, and made his way to the treeline. It was a bright sunny day, so his moves would have to be quiet and fast. The sun cast shadows of the trees swaying in the sea breeze across the sand; shimmering as if the shadows were alive. He'd use these shadows and the crashing of the waves on the shore, to mask his movements.

His moccasins met the beautiful white sand without a sound. With the woman's back to him, he made his move. Edging in foot by foot until he was only three or so feet behind her. She was looking at a map, while tracing a line n the sand. Chyga knew what she was there for, and he wasn't going to allow her to steal from his land.

In one quick step forward, he brought his hand to slap her on the shoulder; not to break anything, but to hopefully knock her off balance. He then he jumped to her right side, knowing she had a gun he then took off running back towards the treeline; hollering a war cry as he ran. "Yoooooooooooooooa! Lydlr sa ev oui lyh, freda fusyh!" he screamed out in his native tongue, making his mad dash for the safety of the trees.

(Translation of what he said: "Catch me if you can, white woman!" Used as a reference for you, not your character, as they will know nothing of his own language.)

Rose, being the mad treasure hunter, had been very focused on the map she had aquired since she landed on the island. She hadn't been paying much attention to what was going on around her, and if she had, it would have probably been on the water. It was likely that at least one of the ships that had been chasing her would figure out which island she had made a break for. The soldiers were always looking for her, and she always managed to give them the slip.

Unfortunately for her, she didn't notice that she picked up another tracker. Rose felt the tap on her shoulder, and the next thing she knew, she found herself with her face in the sand. After pulling her face from the white substance, she turned around, reaching for her sword. She saw a indian man, running away while screaming some language she had never heard before. "What the heck is wrong with that loon...?
Rose asked to no one in particular, pulling herself up into a sitting position. She pushed herself up off the ground, dusting herself off. "And what the heck was all that about...?" Rose reached down and pulled out her sword.

"Hey, you! Who the heck are you?!" She yelled after him.

Chyga successfully making it to the trees, ran and jump mounted his horse, and road him closer to the treeline. He reached into one of the bags on the horse, and took out a stone; just a regular old rock. He then threw it at the woman. It was no way near big enough to do her any real harm, but it would sting the skin if it hit. He followed that up and tossed another, this time letting out another war cry.

"Yaoooooooi! Ya ya ya! Hor cuddci zyler! U'l dni ler dned zucc gucc ayo!" He shouted, following it up with different pitched shouts and throwing stone after stone, making it seem like there were possibly more than one person hidden amongst the trees. He wanted his enemy to be scared, to be intimidated. It was what Chyga was good at, stealth and confusion, he wanted to mislead his foe into getting into a position he could easily end her from.

In the trees, the shadows and trunks of the large trees there hid him well, revealing only glimpses of red-brown skin from time to time, sending an even eerier feeling to those who'd be experiencing this. The sounds of his horse's hooves could be heard as well. He purposely made the horse stomp its feet and trod back and forth a little while he bombarded the woman with stones.

(Translation: "Run little woman! I'm the man that will kill you!")

Rose was a little confused by the indian guy's actions. She thought that they were supposed to attack intruders, not run away. Rose put her hand on her gun, backing up slightly. Then, after a few moments, a stone flew at her. She avoided it, pointing her gun at where it came from. As more stones flew, some of them hit her, and she raised her sword hand to defend herself. "Ow! OW! Stop it! Stop it NOW!" Rose yelled. She began to get worried. She didn't like the idea of being overrun with indians. She REALLY didn't want to leave the valuables behind, but it wasn't worth getting killed over.

"Um, I think I'm just going to... go now...." Rose said, taking a few hesitant steps back in the direction she came before taking off in a dead run. She was constantly checking over her shoulder, seeing if anyone was following her. She tripped, keeping herself up with her hands before continuing to sprint.

When the woman began to break, Chyga made his move, fast and mad. He spurred Vycd and sent the horse into a fast run, launching the horse through the treeline and onto the beach. It was a spectacular sight to see, a muscled red-skinned man bursting through the treeline on a sturdy steed, it's muscles rippling as it jumped out onto the sand. The sun light both the horses shiny tan and white body, as well as Chyga's black-blue hair. Having such a combo chase you would surely send some form of fear though your mind, these two looked as if they were inhuman, just simply unimaginable.

Getting his spear from the side of his horse, he stood up in the stirrups as the horse galloped after the woman; its hard hooves sending the white sand of the beach up as it ran. "Oui'na seha huf!" He shouted, lifting his spear up in his right hand in a throwing manner as he road towards her; closing the gap quick, leaving only 10 or so feet between them.

(Translation: You're mine now!")

Rose noticed the man break from the woods. The same guy. She felt rather silly. It was a trick, and she fell for it. "Bloody indian...." she muttered. She waited for the indian guy to close before jumping to the side, sliding in the sand. She waited him to fly past before taking aim and taking a shot at him. No, it wasn't like she was the best shot in the world, and the guy was moving fast and she was at an odd angle, but it was rather hard to miss hitting him or the horse, considering they were moving in a fairly straight line.

Rose rolled over and pushed herself to her feet, frantically looking around for cover or somewhere to run. She was thinking that she might be able to escape if she swam out of there. She was good at it, and there was a chance that the indian might not be able to follow her. If she got to her ship, she could definately get away from him. "Bloody indians. Why can't they leave an honest pilot to her work?!" She said, making a run for the water.

As Chyga excelled past her, he heard a gunshot, which made him immediately turn his attention back towards the woman. Feeling no pain, nor seeing any sign that Vycd had been shot, he galloped back after the fleeing woman, not realizing that the back right saddle bag had been shot -the one that he carried his food in, which today happened to be some corn and potatoes.- The food just barely saved the horses rear right flank from taking a highly damaging hit. Both man and horse were lucky today, that the woman was a bad shot and the position she was in hindered her ability to get a good shot off.

Not wanting to risk another shot from the woman, Chyga pushed his horse to go faster, the hooves beating the sand over and over as he galloped after the woman. Just before she could make it to the water, Chyga galloped past her right side, the side furthest from the water, and he stabbed at her with the spear, aiming it towards her right shoulder as he went past; keeping a tight grip on it as he stabbed, not letting it go.

"Tea!" He shouted as he stabbed, wanting to stab the woman and cause her to drop her gun, so he could get to his feet and have a fight he'd enjoy.

(Translation: "Die!")

Rose was getting really sick of being dogged by this guy. It wasn't nice to chase a lady while on horseback, or so she reasoned. More likely, she just didn't like that he was faster. As usual, she was doing her best to keep her eye on her attacker, who for some reason, didn't seem to take kindly to Rose's interest in the shiny goods hidden on the beach. As the spear came down on her, Rose ducked to the side, the spear slashing a bit off the fleshy portion of her shoulder. As she did so, she brought her sword around, slashing at both the horse's leg and the crazed indian's leg with the follow through.

Rose rolled, coming up off to the side of where she had been standing, her gun and sword at her sides. "What the bloody hell did I do?!" she yelled at the the indian, who she was hoping would be forced to dismount after her attack.

Chyga was satisfied that his strike had landed; at least somewhat. But, when Vycd cried out in pain and bucked backwards, sending Chyga to the ground landing on his feet as he purposely dismounted. Hespun around to face the woman quickly, anger building inside him.

"Oui tajem fusyh, oui rind so runca. Oui'na kuehk du byo huf! Ku uh, bid tufh ouin kih, vekrd sa fedr ruhun!" He shouted, throwing down his spear in anger. He gave her another mean look while taking out a knife from his belt, holding it in his right hand. He looked a the woman intensely, his eyes burning with hate. He motioned his knife towards her gun, the jerked his hand to the right, gesturing for her to toss it; but he was fairly sure she wouldn't.

Vycd staggered over towards the treeline, limping a long the way. Chyga would have to treat the wounds after the battle, he would never leave his friend in such a state.

Chyga moved left and right, then circling the woman, watching her, moving his hands to confuse the woman, making her wonder if he would attack or just wait. He wanted to keep moving and have the woman take a shot at him, wasting her last bullet; because the moment she drew her weapon up to fire, he'd make his move. Or maybe by chance she'd understand what he meant and she'd fight him with her cutlass.

(Translation: "You devil woman, you hurt my horse. You're going to pay now! Go on, put down your gun, fight me with honor!")

Rose cocked her head as the indian begain to spout more of the weird language. She was pretty sure it had something to do with the horse. "It's your fault, mate. You don't want it hurt, don't ride it into battle!" She said, rising to her feet. The man began to yell about something or other, and quite frankly, Rose didn't care. "Speak English, you bloody backwater indian!" She said, holding her sword up in a defensive position.

Rose began to pace the sand in step with the indian. She kept her gun in her hand, as she always did when she was fighting. It was one of those weapons of opportunity that she enjoyed springing when her opponent wasn't expecting it, and she really didn't want to waste the shot.

Without another word, Chyga made his first move. By now he knew she wasn't going to drop her gun, s he grabbed the second knife from his belt, and looked at her. Now holding one knife in each hand, Chyga continued to circle the girl, until he decided it was time to strike. He circled the girl until he was back to where he started, standing near his spear. Mid-step with the girl, Chyga used his foot to kick the back end of the spear, sending it flying up at her face toppling over itself through the air; unable to tell if the blunt or sharp part would hit her. "Tea!" he shouted. He expected her to knock the spear aside and create an opening for attack.

As Chyga kicked the spear, he used his actual attack, and threw the knife in his right hand, waiting just a few seconds until the spear had already reached her before he took aim and threw it.

He threw with the intent to kill, sending the knife flying at her torso in the open area under her sword, wanting to sink the blade deep into her guts. Hoping to have had a bigger opening to strike at due to his fake attack with the spear.
